Excursion program:

09:00 Gathering group, departure to Ivolginsk village. 35 kilometers from Ulan-Ude there is a unique temple — Ivolginsky Datsan. The current Datsan monastery is the center of Buddhists in Russia. Since 1991, the training of novices (huvaraks) has been conducted.
09:45 Arrival at the main gate of the datsan. The tour begins with the «goroo» — the rite of circling the entire temple territory by the sun. During the tour you will learn about the lifestyle and life of Buddhist monks; the history of the datsan and each dugan (temple) separately; and, of course, get to know the main riddle and phenomenon in the world of Buddhism — Pandito Hambo Lama XII Dashi-Dorjo Itigelov.

According to legend, on June 15, 1927, Itigelov sat in the lotus position, gathered the disciples and instructed them: «You will visit and see my body in 75 years.» Then he asked them to read for his sake “huga Namshi” — a special prayer — a wish for the deceased. The disciples did not dare to pronounce it in the presence of a living teacher. Then Hambo Lama began to read this prayer himself; gradually and the students picked it up. So, being in a state of meditation, Dashi-Dorzho Itigelov, according to Buddhist teachings, went to nirvana.

He was buried in a cedar cube in the same position (in the lotus position) in which he was at the time of leaving. The phenomenon is that from the moment of death his body has not changed at all and maintains the temperature of a living person.

14:00 Buying souvenirs and products on the territory of the datsan.
14:30 Return to Ulan-Ude.
